What does website maintenance include?
Maintenance is more than installing the occasional update. It is everything your website needs to stay reachable, load fast and keep delivering enquiries.
- Security updates for the framework and the packages beneath it
- Backups of code, content and form data
- Uptime and performance monitoring: availability, load time and Core Web Vitals
- Content updates: opening hours, an extra service, a different price
- Management of the SSL certificate, domain and DNS
- Checks that forms and email notifications still work
Why outsource maintenance?
Keeping your own website up to date takes time and knowledge most business owners do not have. Often you only notice when a customer calls to say the form is broken. Outsourcing means someone sees it before you do.

Maintenance packages and prices
Three packages, one fixed price per month, excluding VAT. You can switch packages any month. Content updates are included from Standard. On Basic, content updates are billed separately, like bigger jobs: you get a fixed price up front for those. Hosting (€10-€25 per month) and the domain name (€10-€15 per year) sit outside the package.

What goes wrong without maintenance?
A website I build runs on Next.js and React, hosted on Vercel. So there are no WordPress plugins to patch. But a site without plugins still needs an owner: under the hood there are packages that receive updates, hosting and domain run on subscriptions, and your form talks to an external service.
- Dependencies age: security updates nobody installs, until updating takes real work
- Your domain expires: the renewal email lands in spam and your site and email go down
- Forms fail silently: an expired API key and enquiries go nowhere
- Hosting changes: the platform shifts and your next change no longer goes live
- Content goes stale: old prices, a colleague who left, last year's opening hours
Taking over a site someone else built
Was your site built by an agency or freelancer you have lost touch with? Not a problem, as long as I can get to the code and accounts. If your site runs on WordPress or a website builder, I tell you honestly whether maintenance is worth it or whether a new site on Next.js works out cheaper.
- Step 1: access. You collect the logins for hosting, domain, code and the form service. If something is missing, I help you request it
- Step 2: free audit. I review the code, hosting, speed and security
- Step 3: backlog. If bringing the site up to date takes more than a few hours, you get a fixed price for that first
- Step 4: transfer. I set up monitoring and backups, and you remain the owner of the code, domain and content
- Step 5: maintenance runs on the terms of your package

Basic costs €49 per month, Standard €99 and Pro €149, excluding VAT. Basic covers security updates, a monthly backup and uptime monitoring. Standard adds content updates, performance monitoring and priority support. Pro adds continuous optimisation, A/B testing and analytics reporting.
Am I tied to a long-term contract?
No. All packages can be cancelled monthly and you can switch packages any month. If you cancel, the code, design, domain and content stay yours.
Does a Next.js website even need maintenance?
Less than a WordPress site, but not zero. There are no plugins to patch, but the framework receives security updates, hosting and domain need renewing, and forms and content need looking after. That needs an owner.
Can I get maintenance for a website you did not build?
Yes. I also take over websites from another agency or freelancer. It starts with a free audit, after which you know what is needed and which package fits.
What if my website gets hacked or goes offline?
Uptime monitoring alerts me as soon as your site stops responding, and a recent backup is always ready. I pick up downtime and security incidents the same day.
How quickly are changes made?
Small content updates are done within 24-48 hours, urgent problems the same day. With Standard or Pro you have priority support.
